Produlith helps you choose your packaging
Did you know that well-constructed packaging is a powerful tool that can determine a product’s success or failure in the marketplace?
The type of packaging is crucial to the process of bringing a product to market, since it is the first point of contact with the consumer. Choosing the right packaging means striking a balance between aesthetics, practicality, protection and cost. Durable packaging, designed with quality materials, will not only guarantee product safety, but will also be attractive and trigger a purchase.
At Produlith, we collaborate with our customers from the very beginning to provide the right guidance. Our packaging designer conducts a thorough analysis to understand the product’s journey—how it will be used, where it will be stored, and under what conditions. “My role is to propose the right structure for the packaging,” explains Pascal McDuff, who brings over 20 years of experience in packaging design.
“I work closely with our clients to suggest adjustments to the box design, particularly to ensure it’s compatible with automated packing lines. If we’re talking about a bottle of champagne worth several hundred dollars, for example, I’ll recommend a premium box that reflects the product’s value. The solution also depends on the quantity—how many units need to be produced. From the start, I’m in contact with both the customer and the sales representative to get a full picture of their needs.”**

The importance of properly assessing packaging conditions
The primary function of packaging is to protect the product. It must withstand shocks, temperature variations, humidity and all the other constraints of transport and distribution. “All products are assessed on a case-by-case basis according to the conditions. If, for example, the product ends up in a grocery store freezer, I’ll have to suggest a type of carton that’s resistant to humidity. The last thing the customer wants is for their product to appear damaged and of poor quality, and still be on the shelves! Over the years, I’ve also come to understand that transport can sometimes be an issue, as the cardboard can end up deteriorating from being subjected to shocks. We have to take this into account.

A good printer becomes a strategic partner, able to support you in your future projects and help you stay competitive in the marketplace.
