Produlith : an outstanding employer with exceptional employees

The exceptional Produlith team
A company’s values are crucial on many levels, acting as a compass that helps shape its internal culture. At Produlith, our values form the cornerstone of our identity, guiding our daily actions. These six core values are not just words but are deeply ingrained in Produlith’s culture and influence our policies and decision-making.

The importance of effective communication

Team spirit is strong at Produlith, where communication is vital. The Boucherville-based company makes significant efforts to keep all team members informed about the management’s actions: “Every quarter, we stop production in our facility to hold what we internally call a ‘townhall meeting,'” explains President Shawn Desmarchais. “Like a town council, we share updates on company news, sales figures, and other important information, all in the spirit of transparency. A question-and-answer session is also part of the agenda.”
Social activities such as the annual summer BBQ are organized to reinforce corporate values and strengthen team spirit. In September, a Produlith field hockey team also participated in the Charles-Bruneau Cup.

A good retention

Produlith has 70 employees, and unlike many other SMEs, it faces no employment challenges, with an average employee tenure of 10 years. Human Resources Manager Martin Desgagnés explains: “With over 30 years of experience in human resources across various SMEs, I can confirm that retention at Produlith is excellent. Many of our employees are approached by competitors, but they choose to stay with us. We are a rapidly growing company, which can sometimes create challenges in maintaining our core values. My role is to ensure that new employees also share those values. Employees are more likely to stay with a company where their personal beliefs align with the organization’s. This alignment fosters a stronger sense of belonging and enhances productivity.”

A gradual transition for future retirees

Another initiative highly valued by employees is the pre-retirement program: “We wanted to leverage the expertise and experience of our senior employees by encouraging them to pass on their knowledge to the younger generation. That’s why we offer various phased retirement options,” proudly explains Martin Desgagnés. Employees can gradually reduce their working hours while maintaining their benefits.” This initiative allows for a smooth and collaborative transition toward retirement, balancing the interests of both the employee and the company. It’s truly a win-win situation!
